Architectural historian and television presenter Dan Cruickshank has become the nation's source for explaining social history through buildings. His latest book, The English House, takes the reader on a fascinating tour through eight houses built from 1700-early 20th century, including a Georgian townhouse, pioneering social housing and the first "modern" house. Using wonderful illustrations from the book, he will share their intimate stories and how they contributed to and reflected the social, technological, political and economic change.
